A squadron of scramjet powered aerospace fighters heads into space. Droptanks allow them to acheive higher orbits, and carry heavier payloads. Created with Lightwave 8.5, with texture maps created using Photoshop CS2, A grayscale version graces the cover of the January 2007 issue of Jupiter magazine

I'm liking it quite a bit. The modelling tools aren't quite as good a 3DSMax, but the interface in Lightwave 8.5 is very Max-like, and the hypervoxels do allow for all sorts of interesting effects. It also costs a tenth as much as Max, so in terms of bang for buck, it's hard to beat.
